February 2003 - (First of my Flow 93.5's Love Zone Poems)

Good Morning Y'all.

So I went to find the binder of stuff I wrote poems I wrote and they are all in a binder. I discovered one of my I think 5 or 6 poems at the time for the station back in the day.

Greatful Love (You Make Me Whole) Written February 2003
Your love is like a unexplainable energy
That I can't deny
And hide my feelings
Towards you but emotionally shy
To tell you I write this rhyme
Because you bring out
The hidden side of me
That I try to burry hidden in me
Is a great feeling of sensual emotion
The many things I love about you
Because without you I wouldn't
Know what to do like a missing
Piece to make me the individual
Person I am today as a expressionist of complete
Emotion today you make me whole
Because I would feel empty
Of emotional rhymes without your help
You are that missing page I've been
Searching for like a secret admiration/crush
To fill the denial part of me
And I'm greatful for you always and forever

2003 Era: Vivian Green Chat Room

Ok, so it is now June 14th, 2003. I was about 8 years old at the time and there was no other place I'd kind of wanted to be at the time. There were about may be 4 artists at the time I always wanted to talk to: Amerie, Aaliyah, Vivian Green and of course Sugar Jones cause I was a huge fanatic of them. I mean don't get me wrong I liked other artists at the time but that was my main other artists I like.

I was really glad to join this cause I think that even though this was a 5 page chat. I occupied about 3 pages and had 4 questions answered. I was really excited that hey, I got to talk to not just talk with Amerie at that time but Vivian Green because I thought her soulful voice from her debut album "A Love Story" was a soulful album of that time.

I can remember that I was tired by the end of it but I had to watch my show back then during this period. When Columbia Records had its finest artists at it's time I think.

I can remember the chat though and multi-tasking during this time. I wasn't at all expecting to get so many questions asked during this time, that shocked me as being part of a chat session since Sugar Jones with a combination of the Amerie replies. I think for me being this age, was where I discovered that music was my home and that things could happen when you make it happen. Loved it. See my pink highlighted parts through the attachments below where I asked questions and this was the start of Music Fan(atic) generation until this day partially.

Sugar Jones - How Much Longer

I remember I wanted to take the bus to just go to Edward Garden's where they filmed this at the time. Oh how desperate I was back in High School to just see them in person.

2002: My era which brings me to Sugar Jones (Chat & E-mails)

Yes, I am bring you all back with me to 2002 and when Popstars Debut. Remember Sugar Jones? I don't remember the date of the chat because honestly but the year was between 2002-2003. I know you all were probably thinking where is my chat transpcript or e-mail. Hello it is 2011 (I know Mirella and Maiko) you all were behind most of the chat. I so remember clearly, I think you two ladies had to do mostly with the e-mails that I received from Sugar Jones. I can remember some joke stuff in there. LOL at you two. Thanks Mirella and Maiko. I appreicate it till this day.




I remember the day when I discovered these ladies from the Popstars auditions. I was so a fanatic until it was cancelled. But I love their style of music and what they brought to the industry here in Canada. I remember that I was so a fan, I never got to meet them cause I had no idea they were even showing locally in Pickering and downtown at the time. I would of love to have kept a vintage autograph from them. I wish I could of ran to see them in person.

I remember that day the chat kept crashing on teenpeople.com ah hahahaha. I think we just over flowed the line because everyone wanted to get in. I can remember coming back online and seeing that I had more than one answer from them. (I: 1 MusicAddict/1 Sugar JonesFan or musicfan(atic) at the time remembers when Mirella and Maiko) running the whole chat show while the rest of the girls were on looking; I think. They were very computer savy. I cannot remember what the heck I was going by at the time. Cause I had like 20 nick names + going for me at the time. Either one, I remember wanting to talk and receive e-mails from them on a constant basis. LOL at me at the time.

I think, I respected during this time a lot of artists, these ladies especially when they came out with their music locally and I would play their songs so constantly in the mix with Vivian Green, Aaliyah and Amerie at this point. I think people at my house were annoyed by it. LOL! I didn't care.

I remember though having fun and being so excited because I was having a recognition season during this period. I think getting local recognition from Sugar Jones was just too exciting for me. I can remember jumping up and down and dancing like crazy by the e-mails I got (which was the most locally by any artists I had experienced at the time). Too bad no one saw it except my mom. LOL at me again.

This time period brought some joy in my life because well they were reality stars and musicians and I love the fact that I could represent a group that had different backgrounds which I hadn't I think experienced group wise. I think being in school and coming home to listening to Sugar Jones as a group got me to mellow out when I was too much in R&B just to even things out.

Shoutouts to Mirella and Maiko. Thanks, never forget being a HUGE FAN of the group. Wherever Sugar Jones is at thanks for making a contribution of the Canadian Group scene (in the time of Kuya, Ora - Filippino groups, X-Quisite - Yes Nicole Holness & Melanie Fiona here's looking over at you all...etc.) and the years of having Glenn Lewis, Remy Shand... That year was awesome as well. :D

My Official

So hello, you have officially blogged into my first submission. I am going to take this back to 2002. I should take you even back further to my year as in a chat room to Sugar Jones back in the day when I had received their chats and I need to find copies of that somewhere.

This first blog has to be momential because this year started off with the year of the official year of the birth of Music Addict or Music Fanatic as my original names for a long time. This year brought me the official kick off to Amerie when I got my first e-mail and it put me on the map officially as a established Music Fan(atic) and a couple more, later in that year.

I recorded the day back in December 12th,  2002.

I have some good news! As I was on the amerie.net message boards Amerie PM (Private Message) me and as a attachment for proof you'll find out and it is the display picture letter above. It was 2:52am when this occurred. I had previous misfortunates back before this in 1997-1998 because I was very young to attend to any events and my family wasn't interested in trying to take me to concerts.
So I watched the industry from a far on TV and listen to music stations. I quoted Amerie's quotes in this journal entry back then in my journal.

I say that day was epic.

Later this same year, I was trying to discover some new radio stations outside my Canadian interest when I was young and stumbled across Wolverhampton (yes you may ask where the heck is that?). It is located in London. Why you may ask why I travelled that far to get recognition, because I think a lot of local stations were annoyed by me asking to play Aaliyah tracks and clogging the stations with my request. LOL! I was and still am a HUGE Aaliyah fan until this day and these ladies DJ Snit and Nin plugged a lot of Aaliyah and Amerie songs most of the time and gave me as the sole only Canadian representative at their station when they first started. I also got a lot of recognition and tuned in online every week. I thank them a lot for playing all of Aaliyah songs before her passing. They had a international membership and started the Aaliyah Foundation and travelled to NYC which I hoped to go to and they still do it from this day on. Although no longer in Wolverhampton and now in the States in NYC, these ladies are still going strong. I thank them to contributing me to their station. I was no where as a music fan as a young person trying to find a avenue to get as many shoutouts as I can because I love the attention and recognition.

Both Amerie and Wolverhampton DJs gave me the strength to join BBC Radio 1, some NYC stations and get some recognition but I don't quite remember the year I was tuning there. LOL. I should because it was part of music fanatic history and brought me to stay locally later at Flow 93.5's Love Zone when they first started to get recognized as a poet since my elementary school to high school days.

It was my official recognition which carried me to continue on and change my nicknames over the many years.
